Dad Talk - a case study

For Dad Talk we all came up with the idea of 'Sofa Talk'... sitting willing participants down on a sofa in a variety of situations, and asking them questions based on the subject of fathers.

There was so much content in the interviews that we expanded the number of videos substantially, which had an excellent knock-on effect in social media.

Top 10 Tips

Visual interest

People sitting on a sofa does not make the most visually interesting image.  For variety we filmed some of the sofa scenes out in the street, but many were filmed in front of a green screen, which allowed us to play with the backgrounds and to enhance the verbal messages.

Comedy and drama

An element of comedy was requested for the brief history of the role of men in society, hence 'Masculinity Today', whereas a powerful drama, 'Last Licks', represented the issue of absent fathers.
